A blogger writes:

On a sultry afternoon in Los Angeles, back in 1986, an innocent little girl named Gloria woke up in a dumpster, covered with rotting garbage, behind the Tiki Ti cocktail bar on Sunset Boulevard.

She was terrified… and for good reason.

Because in a matter of minutes, a dozen armed-and-ugly thugs, most of them with prison tats and automatic weapons, would be marching down the alley to annihilate her…

… And she could already hear the pounding of their boots on the pavement!

Can you feel the fear?

Almost touch it… smell it … experience it?

Doesn’t matter where you live the panic about this killer virus, which apparently originated in far-away China, is everywhere.

The news media are having a field day, feeding the panic with scary headlines 24 hours a day.

As serious as this is, don’t be surprised that by the time the smoke clears, close to 100 percent of their dire predictions may well turn out to be wrong!

Why do I say that?

Most of the dark predictions I’m hearing ignore 3 key things:

#1:  History

#2:  Latest Breakthrough Treatments

#3:  Divine Agenda (most important)

 

Let’s keep this short…

So we’ll look at just the last two. 

Ignored Thing #2:
Latest Breakthrough Treatments 

Early last week, a family member told me that a cheap, commonly-available medication – chloroquine – has proven effective in treating patients in China and S. Korea.

My reply was:

If true, praise God but I’ll need to see a published paper in a reputable academic journal to validate it. That’s because of the mountain of ridiculous claims daily flooding the Internet and social media.

Well, it turns out such a paper was published last Friday, March 13, 2020.

In it we see:

· Solid academic research 

· With convincing proof of treatment effectiveness in 2 countries – China and South Korea 

· Presented by a team of highly respected researchers 

· Published in consultation with the prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences

The research summary says:

“Recent guidelines from South Korea and China report that chloroquine is an effective antiviral therapeutic treatment against Coronavirus Disease 2019.  Use of chloroquine (tablets) is showing favorable outcomes in humans infected with Coronavirus including faster time to recovery and shorter hospital stay…”  

Great work.

Many of the readers of this blog are practicing physicians, researchers and healthcare professionals.

They may be interested in reading the full research paper here and another one just published here.

Of course, a vast majority of people may not find reading arcane scientific papers to be much fun.

All the same, you’d still want to know how this latest breakthrough is being received where it really matters …

Notable captains of industry are voicing their support for this surprise treatment approach.

For instance …

Elon Musk, billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, writes in a series of tweets:

“That said, danger of panic still far exceeds danger of corona imo. If we over-allocate medical resources to corona, it will come at expense of treating other illnesses.

“The coronavirus panic is dumb… Fear is the mind-killer… Maybe worth considering chloroquine for C19.”

…

Many leaders – both in government and industry – are beginning to take note.
 

What Does This Mean?

There might be light at the end of the tunnel… far quicker than anybody could ever have imagined.

It means there’s something that can be done now to prevent more casualties… while the vaccines are being developed.

Given the proven successes in China and South Korea, maybe leaders in other countries will take a serious look at this solution sooner rather than later.

I said maybe … and that’s a big MAYBE.

Why?

That brings us to the most important thing (being ignored)

There’s a spiritual perspective to this global panic that is largely ignored by a fallen and broken world.

(That’s why it is so refreshing to see a few leaders summon the courage to declare a National Day of Prayer – USA, Kenya)

Whether you live in a place where the virus threat is real (China, S. Korea, Italy, etc), or in others where manufactured panic is more of a threat than the virus itself…

… this should make you realize that something is about to break forth from the heavens.

And it is something good and wonderful.

A great moral and spiritual re-awakening is on the horizon.

History shows that pandemics seem to precede a mighty move of the Spirit of God upon the earth … known as a Great Awakening or Revival.

What the devil means for evil God turns it to good.

To see this clearly, let’s take a step back into the early 20^th century…

Once upon a time there was a deadly pandemic known as the Spanish Flu.

An estimated 500 million people or one-third of the world’s population at the time became infected with the virus.

At least 50 million deaths were reported worldwide.

It claimed 675,000 lives in the US alone.

That was 1918 – 1919.

(For perspective – in the present case, 6,705 deaths have been reported worldwide, with 69 in the US *** as of March 16, 2020)

Back to the early 20th century.

It was right around that time that a great spiritual revival broke out across the whole earth at the same time.

Accounts of that outpouring of the Spirit from many parts of the world read exactly like the first century Great Revival recorded in the Acts of the Apostles.

It lasted for decades and propelled the Gospel to all nooks and corners of the earth.

What followed is something not widely known…

Many great advancements and leaps forward in medicine, science and engineering were birthed during that worldwide spiritual revival.

A few examples…

·   Chloroquine was discovered in the 1930s 

·   Polio vaccine in the 1950s

…

You’ve probably heard of Artificial Intelligence?

The foundational theories and equations in use today were published in the 1950s.

Matter of fact, the seeds of today’s tech revolution were planted in the fifties…

… starting from the integrated circuit (chips) that form the bedrock of all modern computer and communication systems.

No IC chips? Then there’d be no iPhones, no PCs, no Google, no Facebook, no self-driving cars, and on and on.

…

Now, did you know that so many technological advancements happen on the back of Christian revivals?

Not to mention…

Many of the anointed hymns and songs we sing in our churches were written during that time period.

Without a moral and spiritual awakening, the world slips into decadence, stagnation and chaos.

Unfortunately, true revival began to dry up in the late 1950s.

Meaning that most of us alive today have never witnessed a Great Revival.

Thankfully the signs of another re-awakening are everywhere…

… for those who can discern the times.

In 1 Chr. 12:32 we read about a group of people:

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment. 

Question is:

Are you like the sons of Issachar… able to understand the times we live in?

OR are you caught up in the general frenzy and panic, something that is being exploited for personal and political gain?

This is the time to turn off the FEAR Channels (TV), switch off that Smartphone and …

… be about the Father’s business…

… of end-time evangelism and open demonstration  of the love of Christ to all.

This is the time to join true believers everywhere to raise a holy shout and pray down the revival that’s about to break forth upon us.

Truth is…

No revival has ever happened without the people of God coming together in one accord to pray it into physical manifestation.

You are free to research that statement… starting from the first century revival in the Acts of the Apostles.

The 21^st century Great Awakening is almost upon us.

The urgent task in front of us is to first prepare ourselves.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. – 2 Cor. 7:1

 

Then we get on our knees and cry out to Heaven to send down revival.

Incidentally, the prayer for revival is also the type of prayer to deal a death blow to this killer virus raging through the earth right now.

Here’s an example by the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk:

O LORD, I have heard the report of You; I stand in awe, O LORD, of Your deeds. Revive them in these years; make them known in these years. In Your wrath, remember mercy! – Hab. 3:2 

…

If you look at this prayer carefully, you will see all the elements that come together to ignite a powerful spiritual revival.

I must tell you:

It is in times of revival that you get to enjoy open heavens perpetually.

Meaning: whatever you ask for in prayer takes little or no time to arrive.

Sinners are convicted of their sins often without anyone telling them.

See this Scripture:

None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. – Heb. 8:11 

In times of Great Revival, the word of God goes forth with amazing power to save, heal and deliver to the uttermost as in the days of old.

When a Great Revival is afoot, all the doctrines of Babylon and Sodom that have brazenly taken over the public square and even crept into the Church will be disgraced.

I tell you:

When the wind of revival begins to blow, this current virus and other future pandemics will not stand a chance.

It is time for you and me to urgently get on our knees to cry out for revival.

Psalm 50:15 the LORD says:

Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me

 

And He will answer us in Jesus name.

Great Revival Prayers

The Forum is where prayers go on 24 hours a day.
