She was OK until she got to prayer #23
of Day 10 in the current Prayer Academy.
Then she became uncomfortable… to say the least.
Here is the prayer:
23. O Lord, command your serpents to swallow every
serpentine power unleashed against my life in the
name of Jesus.
Now that China has officially declared that this is the year of the serpent
(according to UK’s The Telegraph)…
You need to pay attention to her question and my answer below.
But first, something glorious is happening in the prayer trenches.
For a quick update…
Let’s go to the City of Prayer Warriors…
“Thank you man of God for such a wonderful blessing pronounced upon my life!
I thank God for you and what you have trained the children of God! Level 2 was a great lesson and experience in my life! I acknowledge that it catapulted me to a new spiritual level in my prayer life.
A sister in my church whose son had a sickness that could not be explained by doctors confessed that the Lord had used me to speak healing upon the young man’s life and the things I decreed – that the doctors would be surprised by his recovery and shall acknowledge that it was divine healing actually happened!
One moment he needed blood transfusion, then after receiving 6pints it all came out through a hole that was in his intestines. The hospital ran out of blood supply. We miraculously got 2 pints from a far distant hospital and for a while the young man seemed out of danger.
But the devil was not through and again the blood came out.
At that point I visited him in hospital and decreed blood transfusion with the blood of Jesus. The hospital got about 16pints from the Red Cross. They intended to give him 6 pints to add to what they said he had (about 5) but when they transfused 3pints, on testing they were shocked to see that it totaled 12 pints!
Then he immediately could walk out of bed and shower and that is when they did tests and declared the hole sealed. A blood clot which had caused complications had disappeared. And at that point the doctor declared that his turn-around could not be explained medically, so it must be divine healing. To God’s glory!
Thank you for teaching me aggressive prayers.”

Praise the LORD.
There is a reason I call this place the City of Prayer Warriors. It happened a long time ago. One day I will share the whole, amazing story of how that came to be.
But for now let me just say that the purpose of our rigorous prayer training is to prepare YOU for such an emergency as this.
Why was she able to decree healing and it came to pass, when most people would have been busy running from pillar to post, looking for “anointed” people to pray for them?
You get a clue from another email I just received – from another participant in the Golden Journey Level 2 just ended … the program that Wanja referred to here.
Moses says:
“I participated in the Golden Journey Level 2 that ended last Sunday 3rd Feb. By the Grace of God, I managed to pray through and I see my life fired up. I feel inside as bold as a lion and as if a flame of fire is being fanned inside my heart.”
Did you see it?
There is a level of prayer you get to … that sets your entire life on fire. It is at that point that devils and their agents will begin to run away from your presence.
In my early days when the LORD was taking me through His own peculiar Training School of the Spirit, I ran into a sister who was perpetually on fire.
One evening she was taking a walk two streets from her home when the Holy Spirit instructed her to turn right and walk into a nearby maternity hospital ward. She quickly obeyed.
Unknown to her there was a woman there who had been in a difficult labor, struggling to deliver a baby for hours without success.
The moment she walked in, all hell broke loose. The nurses were shocked to hear disembodied voices from beings they could not see, urging each other to loose the woman and escape quickly.
Why?
“That fire-spitting sister is here,” they said fearfully as they quickly melted away into the outer darkness.
As soon as this sister walked in, the woman delivered a bouncing baby boy.
What happened here?
These invisible powers recognized someone who not only walked in the authority of Christ but was prepared to use it without any apology.
The Scripture says:
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:19
And speaking about serpents, I received an anxious email yesterday from a beloved sister. She was troubled about Prayer #23 of Day 10 in the current Prayer Academy.
Everything was going fine until she got to that prayer. Then she became quite uncomfortable, to say the least.
Here’s her email question (and my not-so-subtle answer after that):
You need to pay special attention here…
“Dear elisha, I would like a clearer and deeper exposition on the above prayer point based on scripture. I know the bible says that God has given us the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions. Considering the fact that the serpent is cursed animal right from the Garden of Eden, how then can the Lord have serpents of his own? I did not want to take up this prayer point without knowledge of its actual meaning.”

This is a great question. Now to my answer…
“Dear Sister XXX, God has His own serpents, as odd as that may sound. You find this all over Scripture.
For instance, in Egypt the serpent of the LORD swallowed the serpents of the magicians in the Court of Pharaoh.
Do you know that Scripture? It is in Exodus 7: 8-13.
8And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 9When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
10And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. 11Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
12For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods. 13And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
NOTE: You cannot be a true prayer eagle without knowing your Scripture well. In the future I will expect you to do some homework and go search the Scriptures for yourself first. God bless you.”

Is this getting hard to understand?
So let’s make it easier. The LORD has authority over every serpent. Perhaps this passage would help us to understand that.
This is God speaking here:
“And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out there; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them.” – Amos 9:3
Now if you are reading this you might be tempted to think that serpentine drama only happened a long time ago.
But I’m here to tell you that there is a modern-day serpentine revival brewing on as you read this.
There is a 21st Century version of the Court of Pharaoh, where the gates of the dark world are being thrown wide open for spiritual serpents to leave their abode in the netherworld to invade the world of man.
Today serpentine powers are being deployed against the human race in a scale unprecedented since the world began.
To give you some perspective, let’s go to the UK’s daily paper The Telegraph:
“At the stroke of midnight tonight, the world’s biggest party will begin, as more than 1.3 billion people across China pour on to the streets and light fireworks to usher in the Year of the Snake. During the following fortnight they will visit temple fairs, watch dragon dances and make dumplings shaped like silver ingots. They will each, on average, spend a month’s salary on pyrotechnics.
This year’s celebrations will have a serpentine theme. Performances of the Peking opera Madame White Snake will run on repeat, red paper snakes will be pasted on doors, and shops will stock up on traditional snake wine, as well as goods more in keeping with the country’s economic prowess, such as £3,000 Bu lgari Serpenti watches.”

I want to make sure that you do NOT miss 3 keywords here:
- Serpentine theme
- Stroke of midnight (i.e. the midnight hour)
- Economic prowess
What is this telling you? One of the most powerful nations on the earth today is openly and proudly saying that their new-found economic prowess is intricately linked to serpentine powers in the spirit realm.
They are publicly dedicating their economic success and prosperity to serpentine powers in the unseen world.
And they are going to be celebrating it all year.
Here you find that cunning, old serpent is being given a make-over… as something to be desired and celebrated.
This is deeply symbolic. As a believer you should NOT give in to the all-pervasive ignorance of our day.
You can imagine my consternation when I saw the picture of a serpent on a stamp at the post office the other day. I was told this was a special stamp to commemorate the Chinese New Year.
Look around you. You might find many serpentine symbols even in your own country.
When you consider that most everyday stuff that YOU are using today are manufactured in the middle kingdom, where they are openly dedicated to these powers…
… do you need me to tell you about the URGENT NEED to stand against serpentine powers?
Please don’t get me wrong.
I have nothing against China as a country. As a matter of fact, most of my techie friends are Chinese. I have great respect for their great work ethic which, by the way, would put most of us to shame.
That work ethic is certainly worthy of emulation, in my view.
Let me repeat: Most nations will do well to emulate the disciplined work ethics of the Chinese.
But I am speaking about deep spiritual matters here…
I will urge you to learn how to pray with holy madness … against serpentine forces.
There is a method to our madness though. It is all scriptural.
The prayer that got this sister’s attention above is just the tip of the iceberg.
YOU will find even MORE aggressive ones embedded in all our programs this year.
Why?
Because YOU need to acquire the firepower necessary to deal with any power, serpentine or otherwise, if the devil makes the mistake of sending them against your life this year.
You need to learn how to arise and exercise your God-given authority over serpents, scorpions, dragons… and over any other creature that the devil throws at you, even in the dream.
Because if you don’t, you might soon discover (God forbid) that for those who allow the serpent to swallow their destiny …
- Instead of light, there will be darkness
- Instead of prosperity, there will be debt and chronic poverty
- Instead of marital bliss, there will be loneliness and rejection
- Instead of respect, there will be dishonor
- Instead of love, there will be hatred…
I pray that will NOT be your portion in Jesus’ name.
Many people write to me telling me they see snakes, dragons, lions and all kinds of dangerous animals pursuing them in the dream. These are the VAMPIRES in the spirit realm busy swallowing your virtues and sucking the milk and honey of your life.
If you find yourself in this condition and you want to be free… really hunger to be free… you must first ensure you are genuinely born again… and then learn how to get on fire quickly!
This year those who refuse to get on fire
and pray with aggression and violence will gradually
find their lives turning upside down

The Holy Spirit put this material in your hands in order to train you to BYPASS every roadblock, barrier and opposition on the way to your divine destiny in Christ Jesus.
